The School offers a full portfolio of undergraduate and postgraduate courses, in both law and criminology. Our undergraduate law courses are all validated by the legal professions as qualifying law degrees enabling students to pursue the professional side of training as either a solicitor or barrister. Our criminology courses provide students with an opportunity to critique the criminal law and criminal justice system from a social, economic and cultural viewpoint and to pursue careers within the broader public and community-based services. The School also offers a wide range of Continuing Professional Development opportunities, many of which are tailored to individual stakeholder needs.

RESEARCH
As a Law School, we complement our commitment to academic and professional legal education with high-quality research activity. Research staff have entered and achieved excellent results in all national research exercises since the 1990s and our research scholarship continues to impact on court decisions, policy development and law reform in the UK, Europe and more broadly in the international arena. The expertise of our staff informs not only our undergraduate programmes but also our taught and research-based postgraduate degrees.
