The one-year Bucerius Master of Law and Business prepares young professionals for international careers in which an understanding of both legal and business concepts as well as intercultural skills are essential. This European Master in Law and Economics (EMLE) programme offers the unique opportunity for interdisciplinary studies of law and economics at two or even three European and Non-European universities. There will be a joint LL.M. degree awarded from the Universities in Hamburg, Ghent and Rotterdam and all other partner universities will award an additional Master degree (LL.M. / M.A. / M.Sc.).

The demands of professional life may allow only shorter periods of study for obtaining a postgraduate qualification. Our postgraduate program also includes the possibility of the award of either a Diploma or Certificate in International Human Rights and Humanitarian Law based on shorter periods of coursework study.

In some professional situations, the opportunity or the need to undertake postgraduate study may be limited to obtain LL.M degree. For some participants, the need to engage in a postgraduate study may be restricted either to obtaining a broad understanding of the field or to focusing on the very specific subject matter.

Finance Europe program. Our LL.M. Finance Europe program offers excellent interdisciplinary and practice-oriented training in the areas of European banking, securities and finance law.

The program builds upon the foundation of a successfully completed degree in law from a university abroad. Its aim is for students to master the fundamentals of German law, to develop the skills to conduct legal work according to the methods that are common in this field, and to treat an area of law in-depth in a master thesis.

The 6-semester bachelor's degree program consists of 70% legal courses, with a particular focus on European law, and 30% business and economics content. In addition, great emphasis is placed on acquiring soft skills for a successful entry into professional life. The course pursues the concept of high-quality and broad basic training.
