This program prepares students for pursuing a traditional career path as a law clerk, functioning under the direct supervision of a lawyer. Law clerks are employed in a variety of settings, including law firms, corporations, non-profit organizations and real estate Title Insurance companies. Law clerks are able to work in substantive areas of law including criminal law, family law, civil litigation, real estate and wills and estates, environmental law, corporate work and health care. Software used in this program includes PCLaw, Automated Civil Litigation (ACL3), Teraview and Conveyancer, Fast Company, Divorcemate, Estate-a-base, and Express Scribe.
Online Research includes Quicklaw, www.canlii.org, www.lsuc.on.ca, and others.

Students who successfully complete the Wills & Estates, Corporate Law, Real Estate Law and Civil & Debt Collector courses are eligible to write the associated ILCO provincial exams. This program also includes the potential for Microsoft certifications in Word and Excel. Exam Vouchers may be purchased at an additional cost.
High School Graduation Diploma or Mature Student Status (18 years of age and academic achievement assessment passed); passing score on the triOS entrance assessment; admission interview to determine suitability for a career in the legal field.
